Happy New Year!

Happy 2022 everyone!! We started the holidays with the birth of our 12th grandchild. Shepherd James was born to our daughter Katie and her husband Joe right after Thanksgiving. Shepherd joins 2 1/2 year old Linley and 16 month old Crosby. I took the month of December off to help Katie, as well as to spend time with other family members over Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays. We especially enjoyed hosting our oldest daughter’s parents-in-law, Carole and John Ward, over the Thanksgiving holidays. It was a special weekend culminating with Shepard’s birth that Sunday.

Now we excitedly prepare for a new year at the James Cameron House Bed and Breakfast. This past fall was our grand opening and so successful that we quickly noticed the need for additional rooms. We are in the process of building (anticipated finish in April) of adding 3 more king rooms, including a room designed for families. We have many dreams of what we would like our place to become, but I have to remind myself that Rome was not built in a day. It is a continual process of landscaping, building, and furnishing that will continue to get better every year.

However, our favorite part of opening this bed and breakfast are the friendships we have formed with our guests. We have loved the time spent with each one and many now feel more like family than guests. Some of you have already rebooked with us for this new year and for that we are thankful. This was our hope in opening a bed-and-breakfast, that it would foster a personal relationship between proprietor and guest, something we personally missed when staying in a hotel. If you have not stayed with us, we would love for you to experience and be blessed by our home--both by the place and through the people.

Thank you for considering our place when you think about visiting the loveliest village on the plains.
